Cut with a generous pleated leg, buttoned ankle cuffs and an adjustable fishtail waist, they’re practical, distinctive and wonderfully easy to make your own.

The Map Makers were created from Aurora’s love of historical menswear, old-fashioned adventure and clothes that feel just a little out of the ordinary.
Their generous silhouette borrows from breeches and traditional Plus Fours, reworked into something comfortable enough for modern life.
Wear them with a romantic blouse, a chunky knit and boots, or style them entirely your own way.
Your Map Makers begin as lengths of substantial ramie and cotton cloth, cut in your chosen waist size and leg length.
The pleated legs, pockets and button fly are constructed before the waistband, fishtail back and adjustable cuffs bring their distinctive shape together. Finally, the buttons, buckle and finishing details are added before your trousers are checked and pressed.

70% ramie · 30% cotton
A substantial natural-fibre cloth chosen for its balance of structure, movement and durability.
Ramie gives the fabric strength and a subtle natural lustre, while cotton softens the handle. With wear and washing, the cloth will gradually soften further while retaining the structure that gives the Map Makers their distinctive silhouette.

Machine wash at 30–40°C with a gentle detergent.
Air dry, or tumble dry on low.
Iron on a medium cotton setting. Avoid high heat.
Do not bleach.

Your Map Makers don’t exist yet. Once your order reaches its turn, your cloth will be cut to your chosen waist and leg length before being constructed, finished, checked and pressed in our Devon studio.
When they’re ready, they’ll be carefully wrapped and sent on their way to you.

Designed with room to adjust.
Choose your actual waist measurement when ordering. Your Map Makers will be made approximately 2” larger, with the back buckle allowing you to cinch them to size.
For example, select 30” and your trousers will be made at approximately 32”, cinching down to around 30”.
This allows you to loosen or tighten the waist as needed and comfortably accommodates natural fluctuations.
Aurora wears: 30” with her 29-30” fluctuating waist, cinched at the back.
The Map Makers are generously cut through the hips and legs, with their fullness drawn in at the waist and ankle.
Choose your size by your waist measurement, then select your preferred inside-leg length. The adjustable back buckle provides approximately 2” of flexibility through the waist.

I got these in the olive and I love them. Again, the fit is fantastic, the quality of the material and craftsmanship is amazing and the style is so unique. I haven't gotten to wear these out yet, it's just been too hot where I live but once it cools down, I'll probably be living in these. I might need to get them in charcoal too!
